PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Do you need a Thanksgiving Turkey themed activity that is great for comparing numbers as less than, greater than, or equal to and can be used as a math center or for math rotations? This MEGA game set includes color and black and white versions of all game pieces.
This math game set contains greater than, less than, and equal to mats for decks of cards. For easy differentiation, this set contains five decks of cards for sorting. Deck 1 cards have a turkey with the numbers 1 – 9 with four cards of each number 1 – 9. Deck 2 contains a turkey with each of the numbers 1 – 120. Decks 3, 4, and 5 each contain 60 ten frame cards with the numbers 1 – 20. Each deck has a turkey. Deck 3 has turkey feathers in the ten frames and double ten frames. Deck 4 has a turkey and turkey faces in the then frames and double ten frames. Deck 5 has a turkey and pieces of pumpkin pie in the ten frames and double ten frames. Each of the 3 turkeys in decks 3 – 5 is different from the others.

To prepare: Print the number of mats you would like to use with your students. The game can be played by single students, or pairs of students. I suggest one set of mats for each group of students. The sets would include a greater than mat and an equal to mat or a less than mat and an equal to mat. Print the deck or decks of cards that you choose to use. I suggest printing on cardstock and laminating for durability. Cut the decks apart. All cutting is on straight lines. Print the greater than or less than recording sheet if you choose to have students record their work. Recording is optional.

To Play:
Single Student – The student draws two cards, places them correctly on the correct mat and records them using the recording sheet if desired.
A Pair of Students – Each student draws one card. The students compare the cards and place them correctly on the mats. The students use the recording sheets if desired.
Other uses for the decks of cards – Use 1, 2, or all 3 of Decks 3, 4, and 5 and have the students sort by number. Put all the 10’s together, all the 9’s together etc.
Choose a deck and make 2 copies to play a memory match game.

It works well with math stations, math centers, small group instruction, differentiated instruction and RTI.
