This activity is called "Greatest Common Factor". It is a Mix-Freeze-Partner Activity from the Always Love Learning Store. Students will use cooperative learning to practice finding the greatest common factor.
The teacher will cut out the cards provided.
Each student will receive a card.
When the teacher starts to play music, students will mix around the room with their card, recording sheet, and pencil.
When the music stops, students will freeze and partner up with someone who has the opposite color card than they do.
Partners will work together to find the greatest common factor of their numbers. Work is documented on the recording sheet.
When all groups are finished, the teacher will start the music again. Students will mix around the room again while trading cards with someone.
When the music stops, they freeze and find a new partner.
The activity continues in the same manner as before.
