Students will help a girl arrange her goodie bags with candy by finding the greatest common factor of 3 different candies. They will also help her create teams with captains and players by finding the greatest common factor. Further more students will have to discover how much of each candy is in each bag and how many captains and players there are on each team. Lastly, students will have to explain and justify their answers. This task can be used as an activity and/or assessment. It is great for formal or informal observations.
