Students have a tough time determining when to use the greatest common factor or the least common multiple. But, you can help them with this practice worksheet and the 2-sided homework page.
At the top of the paper, there are clue words that students can use to determine if they should use the GCF or the LCM. The students have to choose the correct operation, list at least 2 clues that helped them, then solve the problem and show their work.
This activity not only helps my students, but it helps me as a teacher as I can see the students' thinking and any misconceptions.
