Common Core asks students to explain their mathematical thinking in a comprehensive manner. What better way than have them interact with Marilyn Burns's book, The Greedy Triangle.
This printable is to be used after you finish reading the story to your class. Students think about how geometry is used in the world around them and find a particular shape being used in a unique way.
They choose their favorite form of the Greedy Triangle and then explain where that particular shape can be found in the world, something different than the book of course.
