Bundle Description

This Greek mythology allusions unit includes lesson plans, a list of 40 words from myths, a PowerPoint presentation, posters, cards, games, and an assessment.

Created by master teacher Brenda Kovich, this set has everything you need to teach, reinforce, and assess students’ knowledge of words that allude to characters in Greek myths.

A companion website houses all materials.

  • How Did Greek Words Come into the English Language? – This page tells four ways Greek terms entered our language. It can be used as a teaching tool, poster, or handout.
  • List of Terms – Two pages list and define all 40 terms covered by the cards. It’s perfect as a study guide.
  • Words from Mythology Cards – Print these half-page cards back to back. On the front, you’ll find the word and its definition. The back features background information and a sample sentence.
  • Words from Mythology Posters – Each of the 40 full-page posters presents the word, its meaning, a picture, background information, and a sentence containing the word.
  • PowerPoint Presentation – The posters have also been saved as a PowerPoint, allowing you to present them as a slide show.
  • Game Cards – Print these quarter-page cards back to back for flash cards or on one side for matching or concentration games.
  • I Have, Who Has Game - Get the whole class involved in this interactive game. Up to 40 students can play. Kids love practicing Greek mythology allusions this way.
  • Allusions Test – The one-page assessment tests kids over 20 of the 40 terms.
