The scripts in this pack were written for 3 - 4 students. Each script is an adaptation of one of Greek Myths.Greek Mythology can be a challenge to teach as well as to learn and reader's theater is a great way to give students another chance to remember it. I use all of my Reader's Theaters to help students improve their fluency. My students, especially the ones struggling to read, still require motivation to improve and that is where Reader's Theater comes in. After each script is a writing prompt for the students to respond to.
You can buy 8 of these scripts in this pack for $10 or pay $2 a piece for them. Buying this pack will save you $6. The myths in this pack are: Hades Goes to Court for Kidnapping (The story of Persephone) - Introducing Pan Who Was NOT Called Peter! - Meet the Olympians - an Introduction to Greek Gods - Pandora's Box - The Flight of Icarus - The Story of Narcissus - The Story of the Cornucopia or the Horn of Plenty - The Story of the First Marathon. The 4th grade group will need some extra help with some of the names and vocabulary words. After each script is a writing prompt.
My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone and I hope that you will enjoy this small group Reader's Theater. As I have said before, small groups are better because students aren't waiting as long to do their part so they get more practice in and spend less time off task. My ESL students find these scripts to be their favorite part of our lesson time. Please let me know what you think of this one. Most of my scripts are black and white to make it easier to photocopy. Let me know how things go. Thank you.
