I use this set of questions as a homework assignment the day prior to discussing/introducing the Greek theater in class. Students use the Internet (or can go to the library) to answer the questions. The next day students use a red pen to add to or change any of their answers. This helps the students to take ownership in the class discussion and helps to break up the monotony of simply taking notes from a PowerPoint or a traditional lecture. These questions will later appear on a quiz or as part of a unit test.
I have used this prior to reading Antigone and Medea but will work well with any Greek tragedy.
