Greek Urns & Graphic Novels & Manga
– Cross Curricular (Language Arts, History)
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to explain the purpose of Greek urns and the process used to decorate them. Students will also be able to compare and contrast Greek urns to contemporary graphic novel panels. Students will then create their own graphic novel panels using text and images to tell a story. This lesson enables history and literature to come alive in the art classroom. Students will make connections to hero myths learned in Literature or History classes.
