Make a diagram of Greek and Latin roots with this "square root" diagram. Students will form a square using four words that share the same root. The words will appear on the outside of the square and the meanings are folded under the word to allow them to practice their meanings on their own. The root meaning goes in the middle. This could extend to all prefixes, suffixes, vocabulary, spelling terms, etc. Let your students create their own diagrams and get to the "root" of the real meanings of root words!
