PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Are you teaching fossils and dinosaurs? Then this activity that integrates Language Arts into science will be a great addition to your unit!

It is a lesson I created for students to learn the meaning of dinosaur names. The students look up Latin and Greek prefixes and suffixes in order to determine the meaning of dinosaur names.

This product includes:

1. My two-page lesson plan that shows how I incorporated this activity in my class. In the lesson plan I even included three ideas for extension activities.
2. A worksheet with Latin and Greek roots and their meaning
3. 24 task cards with pictures of dinosaurs and their Latin names
4. Answer key

You can use the task cards with dinosaur pictures in many other ways in your class!

My students enjoyed this activity, and I hope yours will, too.
