In need of a unique supplementary writing project for your Mythology unit?

Included is a creative writing assignment asking students to write their own myth or legend about a God or hero from Greek or Roman mythology. Students are also asked to create a visual and a handout for the audience/class that reviews or teaches the known information of the hero or God. All of these assignments culminate into a great presentation project for the student to share their mythology research, visual, and creative writing story to their classmates.

Also included are three PowerPoints:
--A Greek and Roman Pantheon PowerPoint: a 15 slide PowerPoint presentation on the 12 Gods of the Greek and Roman Pantheon. Each slide gives both the Greek and the Roman Names for the Gods, a picture, their relationships to the other Gods, their personalities, and deeds for which they are famous.
--Themes and Beliefs in Greek Mythology: a 14 slide PowerPoint presentation outlining the Values and Beliefs found in a Greek Myths and Legends. Traits as Pride, Revenge, Hospitality, Family, Power, Respect for the Gods and more are defined, along with an introduction to the purposes why the myths and legends were written in the first place.
--The Greek Hero and The Epic Poem: a 17 slide Literary Vocabulary PowerPoint presentation outlining the Values and Beliefs found in a Greek Hero and the 12 Literary Elements found in Epics. Heroic traits as Prowess, Courage, and Favored By the Gods are complemented by the literary elements classically found in epics, such as Vast Settings, Supernatural Sources and Deeds of Courage.
