This CVC word game is perfect for the month of March! My students LOVE to read and “cook” these darling eggs! This game makes a wonderful center activity for students to complete independently. You can also use this game as a small group intervention activity. There are two different options for this game: reading the CVC words and matching the eggs that rhyme.
You will receive:
*40 CVC word eggs (8 eggs/4 rhyming sets per vowel)
*Frying Pan Graphic
*Cut and laminate the eggs, as well as the frying pan graphic
How to Play (2 Options):
*Option 1: Put all of the eggs in the frying pan to start (as many of the 40 as you would like to use; I usually stick with 10 to 15 at a time). Students will take turns taking an egg out of the pan (my students love to use a toy spatula for this!) They will read the word. After reading the word, they will place the egg to the side (or on a pretend plate!) They will keep going until all the eggs are read.
*Option 2: Select 5 to 10 pair of rhyming eggs. Flip the rhyming word eggs upside down on the table. Have students take turns flipping over two eggs at a time to see if they rhyme. When a rhyming pair is found, the matching eggs are placed in the pan!
I hope that your students enjoy this game as much as mine do!
