Step-by-step instructions for use

This door hanger activity is GREEN for Ordinary Time :)

Best time of year to use:

1. Start of the New Liturgical Year - The logical time to teach about the liturgical year and liturgical colors is the first week of Advent, which is the first day of the liturgical calendar. HOWEVER, I've found that those few weeks of Advent before Christmas break are jam-packed and it is easier to introduce the liturgical colors during:

2. Ordinary Time! - Introducing the liturgical colors is a GREAT lesson to include in the first few months of school/catechesis. This way, when Advent hits, your kids are READY, and know to expect a change of color and symbolism. During the busy December months, you'll have more time to enjoy Advent, prepare for Christmas, and USE the liturgical knowledge already gained.

TIP! This door hanger activity makes a great emergency lesson plan/activity to keep in your back pocket!
