Many young children struggle to know how to GREET
their teachers and friends. It is especially difficult for students with an Autism spectrum disorder.
This routine will teach them to choose 1 of 4 options for saying, "Hello!":
1. Hug or Pat on the back
2. High Five
3. Hand Shake and Smile
4. Wave and say, "Hello!"
Young children will benefit from these visual aids:
* 8 Full-Color Resource Posters
-> Use these as a lesson during circle time, hang them in the classroom as a visual reminder, or bind them into a handy classroom book.
*Black & White Student Mini-Books
-> Copy these for each child. (There are 2 per page. Collate, staple, and cut!)
-> Students can color the pictures and take the book home for extra reinforcement!
*The text on each resource poster is completely EDITABLE.
-> If you need to make changes, just highlight the words and type your own.
-> The words on the student mini-books will automatically fill in to match the wording on your posters. No need to type it again!
-> Please note that you must open and edit them in Adobe Reader. They will not edit correctly in any generic or apple-brand PDF reader.
This resource is included in a $$ Money Saving Bundle $$
. Do not purchase it if you already own the Routines Bundle
Have fun playing and learning with your children all year long!
