In my classroom, I track student's progress in a book through reading group discussion, daily written questions, projects, and chapter quizzes. I added in chapter quizzes just to make sure my students were reading and comprehending each chapter. With some reading groups, I only require taking one quiz a week. However, as you can infer, some of my reading groups must take the quiz after each chapter!
My students truly enjoy the daily discussion in reading groups as well as the projects that I create for them. If you need engaging projects, discussion questions, or higher level thinking questions, I've also created "Gregor the Overlander" Discussion Questions & Projects.
This resource includes: 27 chapter quizzes & an answer key
Each chapter quiz has questions that require students to go back into the chapter and find evidence from the text. Students are required to the write the page number as part of their answer.
I hope this helps to bring fun and engagement to your reading groups!!!
