While I meet with each reading group, my students are engaged in a variety of activities. In my classroom, it's a favorite part of the day! Each group spends time meeting with me to discuss what they've read and to check progress on projects. Also, students bring their reading notebook to discussion so that the daily question can be either checked by me or read aloud as part of our discussion. I'm highly organized for reading groups, since I discuss four books!
Over the years, I've discovered that having "too many questions" to ask is better than not having enough. Therefore, this resource is split by chapter into four sections: 1) Discussion; 2) Vocabulary; 3) Questions; & 4) Projects.
This resource includes:
***Discussion questions (to help you guide a reading group discussion)
***Vocabulary (words to know for each chapter)
***Chapter questions (to be written in reading notebooks)
(If you would like to give a packet of questions to students, check out my chapter quizzes for this book. My chapter quizzes are designed to track a student's comprehension and progress throughout a book.)
