Gregory is more than a fussy eater; he is a picky, terrible eater. He isn't like most goats. Instead of indulging in delicacies like old shoes, boxes, and bottle caps, he prefers to eat fruits, vegetables, eggs, and fish. His mother and father finally take him to the doctor. But when Gregory develops a taste for flat tires and broken violins, he's not just eating like a goat---he's eating like a pig! This lesson has kids giggling about Gregory's favorite junk foods— like string beans and shoelaces. Gregory gradually achieves the right balance between healthy and junk food.
In this lesson students will demonstrate an understanding of the 5 food groups as well as USDA's MyPlate. It will not only delight young readers, but will hopefully have the intended consequence of teaching children a lesson about improving their eating habits.
