Looking for fun extra practice grammar exercises? These Grocabulary resources are something I made in an effort to make grammar more fun and engaging for both students and teachers. It consists of three grammar practice exercises.
Each grocabulary worksheet highlights a grammar concept, but the sentences contain funny and entertaining "vocabulary" words to get students thinking about using context clues to determine unfamiliar word meanings. The focus of these exercises is grammar, but they are also a useful supplement for context clue work with vocab.
The grammar concepts covered include: Subjects and Predicates, Phrases and Clauses (dependent, independent, relative, subordinate, participial, gerund, prepositional, appositive, and infinitive), and Types of Sentences (simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex).
If you are looking for a way to spice up your grammar instruction, to get students excited about learning new words, to teach the concept of determining word meanings from context clues, or just to get in some extra grammar practice, give these unique grocabulary exercises a try!
Sound interesting, but you're not sure how to incorporate it? No worries! Suggested use is included!
Note: This product does not include minilessons, but you can find minilessons and units for these concepts below.
