This activity connects math with the real world. Using the provided store ad, students add the costs of various grocery store items to find the total cost on their receipt. This activity uses dollars, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies. There are receipts with certain food items and blank ones where teachers and/or students can pick their own from the ad and calculate the cost.
This activity can be used in a variety of ways.
You can use it in a math center, as a math packet, or as homework.
