Teach your students the give and take of purchase transactions as they shop for grocery items with this simple bilingual dialogue. This interactive conversation will provide your students with common textbook expressions at a Spanish 1 level and is an easy to implement interactive activity introducing the student to a simple purchase transaction as soon as they have learned food topic vocabulary. Students can read the script exactly as it is written or personalize the context of the conversation by substituting an underlined word for their choice of vocabulary.

The activities will help to create a memorized or formulaic dialogue and still maintain the appearance of a spontaneous interaction. The script is written using short questions and responses with expressions that are mostly reactive in nature but, allow the student to feel as if they are in a real conversation using Spanish 1 vocabulary and expressions. (Compares to Novice-Mid on the Foreign Language proficiency scale).
Opportunity is provided for noun-number agreement or noun-adjective agreement and will provide a challenge above the level for your accelerated or advanced students. If needed the lines can be omitted depending on the student skill level.
