This Gross Motor Preschool Alphabet Activity will be the perfect addition to your centers at any time of the year. Prep this activity and have the kids complete it when they come into class. You will need post-it notes (who doesn't have these?) and the printable PDF for this activity to work!
Print the pages on large A3 sized poster paper and laminate if you wish.
Use simple 4x4 sized post it notes and a sharpie to write the letters they will need to match.
Use upper or lowercase letters depending on what you’re getting your students to practice.
You can also print out the beginning alphabet sounds train pages to work on.
Once you have the printed pages, use blu-tack to place them onto the wall to create a train. Next to each other, like below.
Next, stick the post-it notes around the classroom and hide them in random places (that the kids can find. Then have them look for the post-its and match them to the train. You can also make doubles and triples of the same letter and have the students place them on top of the square.
Get the kids to use a clipboard to write the letters onto their recording sheets.
Your students will LOVE this activity!
