Welcome to the Grouchy Ladybug Project. My students love the Eric Carle book The Very Grouchy Ladybug. In this project, students will write about a time they were grouchy using a ladybug graphic.
This worksheet will work well with any age of students but I specifically use it with students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Students should think of a time that they were grouchy. On the ladybug graphic, they need to write about when they are grouchy and draw a picture of it on the body of the ladybug. They also add their name and eyes on the head of the ladybug. The wings of ladybug are made with the template. This can be printed on red paper, printed on white paper and colored, or traced on red construction paper, and students cut them out and put on black dots. Wings are attached to the ladybug with a brass brad so wings can move and show the information inside. When the project is finished, it makes a great display or bulletin board. This is perfect when paired with Eric Carle’s book The Very Grouchy Ladybug.
Images for this worksheet are in the public domain. I created the template.
