Groundhog Articulation: A Speech Therapy Craftivity
Low Prep and Ink Friendly
This activity was designed to be a low prep craft activity to target articulation in an engaging way. It is an activity that keeps students busy during practice!
This download contains following sounds: initial/final: p, b, m; final: n, t, d; initial/medial/final: k, g, f, v, l, s, z, ch, j, th, sh; pre-vocalic r; vocalic r (er, ar, or, air, ear, ire); rblends; lblends; sblends (separate mats for sp, st, sm, sn, sk, sl, sw, mixed). I also included an open-ended page. First practice, then make a groundhog craft.
*Please note: There are 12 target words on each page
Materials Needed: Groundhog Articulation page, crayons or bingo dotters, black construction paper, and white chalk or crayon.
To use: The student will practice the word and then color or dot the target word on the groundhog. The student will color the groundhog. The student will cut out the groundhog and place it on a black piece of construction paper and tape along the bottom. The student will color around the groundhog with white chalk or crayon. When they are finished, they can lift up the groundhog to see its shadow!
Variations: If you do not want to make the shadow craftivity, just use the sheets to practice articulation skills or to send as homework.
