Groundhog Day Activities: Color by Number Groundhog Day Craft & Directed Drawing

Description
Your students will enjoy this FUN groundhog packet! They will make an adorable groundhog craft and follow step-by-step pictures to draw a groundhog.
Craft (Differentiated):
The groundhog craft is available as a color by number and a color by addition to 10 to meet the needs of your students.
There are two groundhogs included for the craft, one wearing a “Here Comes Spring” shirt and one wearing a “6 More Weeks of Winter” shirt. The groundhog craft can be used in two ways:
Option 1: Make a Prediction!
· Set out the two groundhogs and have students choose the one that shows what they think the groundhog will see.
Option 2: What the Groundhog Saw!
· Use the page that shows what the groundhog actually saw that day.
This packet also includes four bulletin board headers (We Predict Here Comes Spring, We Predict Six More Weeks of Winter, I Saw My Shadow and I Did Not See My Shadow) to use if you would like to hang up the groundhog craft!
Directed Drawing (Differentiated):
Student will follow step by step pictures to draw a groundhog. The directed drawing comes as a draw only version and a draw and write version where the students draw the groundhog and then write about it. For best picture results, have students draw the picture with a pencil or black crayon and then go back and color it in with different colors. Markers are not recommended.
