is a fun and engaging way for students to build their critical thinking and problem solving skills through a STEM
activity. Use these two fun Groundhog Day
themed challenges to engage your students in a critical thinking activity. There are two different activities
at two different difficulty levels for students making differentiation easy. There are also 6 game boards for each activity so students can complete the activity many times as the game boards are all different. Students create a program using codes by following the story for Groundhog Phil on Groundhog Day. Written and visual instructions are included so you can use which ever your students need.
Use these coding activities for a STEM
lesson or in a center for science and critical thinking skills. Students can play independently, in pairs or in small groups. You don't need any additional materials other than printing out the pages you want to use.
2 Groundhog Day Games
In these challenges students create a path on a game board for the activities Phil does on Groundhog Day. One game has Groundhog Phil seeing his shadow and the other game has him not seeing his shadow.
•6 Game Boards for the each game
•6 Game Boards for a modified challenge with less steps for each game
•Visual and written instructions
•Optional moveable pieces
•Optional code cards
•Make your own game board
