This groundhog themed 'count the room' activity will engage your independent learners and they will have no idea they are practicing counting and writing numbers 10-20!
This pack will allow you to incorporate seasonal activities into your curriculum!
The center can also be used as a 'stationery' center rather than count the room. Place cards in baskets and/or buckets rather than tape around the room!
You can use it in a themed sensory bin too! Simply fill your bin/bucket with green and/or brown shredded paper! Add these cards and have students pull and match number to picture (ten frame) cards or pull picture (ten frame) cards and record the number of groundhogs from the ten frame on their recording sheet!
Use it for early finishers basket too!

Directions/Suggestions For Use:
Print and laminate cards. Tape cards around the room for a ‘count the room’ activity or they can be placed in a basket/bucket on a table for a stationery center activity.
Students look at the picture on the card, count the number of groundhogs in the ten frame and find the matching animal to either write, trace or circle the number.
Choose the recording sheet that best matches the skill level of your students- no number writing assistance, write/circle the number, circle the number and trace the number.
Use for centers, center extension activities and/or early finisher basket:
*Have students match face cards to number cards
*Place a set of these cards in a basket/bag.
Students can put them in order from least to most objects (or most to least).
*Partner match up- give ½ your students number cards and the other ½ ten frame cards. They have to move about the room to find their ‘match’ partner
