This holiday-themed resource targets homophone practice with an option for differentiation.
A fun way to combine Groundhog Day and literacy skills, this activity is ideal for literacy centers, homework, tutoring, the sub, and homeschool.
Students will read each sentence and choose the correct homophone from the given set to fill in the blank.
PART 2 and PART 2*
Two options are included: PART 2 and PART 2*. Both options ask students to choose three sets of homophones from PART 1, and to write sentences using these homophones. However, PART 2 asks students to write ONE sentence for EACH homophone in each set, where PART 2* asks students to write ONE sentence using BOTH homophones in each set, creating a more challenging task.
Students choose one homophone set to illustrate.
Included sets: heir / air; seen/ scene; burrows / boroughs ; its / it's; weight / wait; or / oar; whether / weather; find / fined ; fir / fur; hole / whole
