Survey your students about whether or not the groundhog will see his shadow using the anchor chart headings. Follow that up with a writing prompt that will get your kids thinking about what they think a groundhog will do if he sees or doesn't see his shadow. This would be a great writing craftivity after reading Scholastic's "It's Groundhog Day" by Steven Kroll.
Finish the student's writing with the page topper to make an easy bulletin board showcasing your students' work!
This set includes:
Two survey headings: Sees Shadow, Doesn't See Shadow
Two writing prompt templates with lines
Two writing prompt templates with lines and a space for a picture
Page topper template to run on brown construction paper or print and have your students color it brown
Vocabulary cards: Winter, Spring, groundhog, shadow, 6 more weeks
Sheet of 20 groundhogs for voting - just cut apart and have students write their names on them before casting their vote
