Product Description
As practice for procedural text, each student receives one paper plate, and one set of directions. During this time I do not talk to them or answer any questions, only place all of the materials on my round table and sit to assist anyone with getting their spoonfuls of frosting. The entire class must put together their 'groundhog' without talking or looking at one another's plates to practice following written directions/reading procedural text. This can be done as partners, a team, or a whole class all together depending how far into procedural text your grade level delves, but the kids have a great time and there is NOT a step that says to enjoy him, so I grade each Groundhog for accuracy before allowing them to either go into ziplocs for home/lunch or be eaten.
