This worksheet helps students record the weather on Groundhog Day and test to see if Groundhogs shadow can be seen.
Instructions for printing and use
Print on A4 paper.
Place the worksheet on a clipboard. Give each student a clipboard, worksheet, coloring pencils and a counting bear. Take the worksheet outside. Help children to record the temperature and weather on the top two boxes. Place the counting bear on the dashed circle and use a pencil to trace his shadow onto the paper. Color the picture with realistic colors. Answer the question, “Can Groundhog see his shadow?” by coloring the happy or sad face.
This activity is best completed in the morning or afternoon on a sunny day for a longer shadow.
