Groundhog's Day Compound Words
Buttercup the Groundhog is ready to have some fun. She sends a letter and some games to your class to teach them about compound words. There are also 2 poems from Punxsutawney Phil full of compound words for your students to identify and read. Included in the packet are:

*2 different versions of a poem about Punxsutawney Phil and his big day. The poems are a little different depending on whether or not Phil sees his shadow.

These activities are perfect for word study fun on Groundhog's Day. The games can be used as part of Daily 5 Word Work or in a literacy center.
