The following is a video activity which directs students to apply their knowledge and understanding of Group Behavior and Social Interaction to an episode of the television show "M.A.S.H."
This activity is a great activity paired with a t.v. classic which student truly enjoy and gain much understanding and practice their application of classroom material.
Students are directed to observe an episode in class and as they watch complete a graphic organizer which asks students to cite an example of Social Interaction (Cooperation, Coercion, Conflict, Social Exchange, or Conformity) and cite evidence from the video in their explanation.
In addition to the graphic organizer, students are asked to cite the group (M.A.S.H.) boundaries and identify what type of group they represent and explain why.
This is a great application and reinforcement activity which aides in understanding student mastery as well as planning future lessons.
