Our Bible Study group at church is using Andy Stanley's When God as a video to study and discuss. I was in charge of leading the discussion and study for Part 1, so I created this assignment for Part 1 - When God is Inattentive.
If you teach religion or are using this video as part of a small group Bible study, you owe it to yourself to download the assignment. It starts with a very unique activity that addresses speculative prayers by other people throughout history. It's fun and educational. The next part includes more than 20 insightful discussion questions--not the typical reading comprehension questions in most Bible studies.
The download also includes Praise and Worship ideas, a few Bible verses to use, and a Community Service suggestion. It has some notes I made while creating it, too. For example, did you know that Charles Darwin studied to be a minister?
The format is what my wife and I used when we used to lead the group, but now we just take turns leading. If you want to address more than the surface of this Right Now Media video, you can search their site for guides, or you can use this for a fraction of the cost. However, you will need an account to view the video.
The study will be done in a Lutheran church, but the video is probably considered non-denominational. You can tweak it for any Christian church or school.
