Use these 3-inch labels to organize your classroom groups in a snap. Make group roles, partners, and organizing materials a breeze with these cute labels in the Chalkboard Dots design. Choose from two color options!
Organizing Your Classroom:
Choose black background labels for the whole class OR give each group a different color.
Make groups for 2-6 students per group. I usually make groups of 4, but sometimes I’ll also have one group of 3 and one group of 6. You can move the desks into groups or just designate which student desks you’ll want to form groups when you want them to turn and talk.
Print, laminate, and cut the labels out. Large, clear, packaging tape works well for adhering them to desks.
Use the color-coded group names if you want to make a class display to represent each group.
Using the Group Labels
Partner Up: You have options to make quick partners in each group. You can have students partner as A+A and B+B or have them partnered as 1+2 and 3+4. Find the combinations that work for you.
Sequence Tasks: Use the numbers for which order the group members will complete a task. This helps to include every member of the group.
Group Roles: Use numbers to designate job roles quickly to each group. For example, I’ll say and record on the board: “#1’s please gather the materials, #2’s throw away trash as we complete our projects, #3’s record the answers on the board, #4’s return the materials.
Manage Materials: You can ask just #2’s to hand out papers one day and the mix it up the next time asking #3’s.
