This is a great resource for holding whole group or small group discussions. Students own the grading completely: assign one student to grade up to four other students on the quality of their contributions and their use of evidence. After, each student can use the second sheet/back page to reflect on the discussion.
This began as a tool to review analytical essays and critical questions in AP Literature and worked extremely well to hold large and small group discussions in my 7th grade class. I gave every student a rubric so they could grade themselves; this allowed them to reflect throughout the discussion and contest the head "grader" if needed (though this never happened!).
