Have students get into their groups that they were in while practicing/completing the Group Exercise Example Routine Cards. Print the worksheets out front and back for 3rd grade 4th/5th grade.
For this worksheet...
Part 1: Group members need to work together to sort the exercises from the word box and place them under the correct area of fitness. This should be done as a group. Encourage the students to pick an exercise from the word box and discuss it. If they have forgotten what the exercise looks like, encourage them to look at the "Word Bank Picture Examples" sheet. If they are stumped, encourage the group to do that exercise and see if they can use the definition of the areas of fitness on the board to help them decide on what area of fitness to place the exercise in.
Part 2: Once all of the exercises have been sorted, the group will then start to make their own group exercise routine on the backside of the worksheet. 3rd graders will choose 6 different exercises from the word bank to put into their group exercise routine and 4th/5th graders will choose 9 different exercises to put into their group exercise routine. The exercises that the group has chosen should be exercises that ALL group members can do properly. Once they have created their group exercise routine, they will begin practicing their routine together as a group for their “group workout routine video.” The group will need to memorize their routine and will need to practice it over and over again to be prepared to perform it in front of their teacher.
