This project asks students apply knowledge they have gained in your poetry unit to interpret and teach a poem to their class. Included in this packet are directions for your students (in handout form) and a rubric to use for grading.
This is an excellent project to use at the end of a poetry unit. It has been used many times in my own classroom with great success. It makes a great way to assess students' understanding of a unit and ability to use what they learned without giving a traditional test.
This project assumes that:
-the class has studied poetry and poetry interpretation
-has a list of poetry vocabulary that they have learned,
-and that the teacher will provide a list (or other direction) to students when groups are picking poems.
All materials are included in Docx and PDF format for ease of use and customization.
Once you have downloaded, looked over, and/or used this, please leave feedback! Thanks!
