Group posters are a fantastic way to assess and review content at the end of a unit! The students learn the importance of sharing the work load when a specific rubric is handed out explaining exactly how they are to be graded.
I use the following rubric consistently all year across all subject areas!
The first time it is used you MUST go through it with the group with an example. After this the students will progressively become better at creating informative posters and will fall in love with poster lessons!
There are two sides to rubric. One side is for the students to prove their effort bye explaining their contributions while the other side is for the teacher to grade the poster.
The rubric is organized by content, pictures, participation, and organization/clarity from 1-5 for each area. Each area and rating specifically explains what the teacher sees. The greatest total points one can earn is 20/20.
This is one of my must have documents when I teach and can be used for any subject at any level between 5th-12th.
Organization is key to engaging the students and decreasing the need for classroom management! Enjoy!
