Using reading roles when students are reading in groups is incredibly useful, but sometimes students need more direction and support. This product provides the students speaking and questioning prompts, broken down by reading role, to help students conduct their role on their own and without constant teacher prompting. While my students eventually use the resources on their own and without prompting, in beginning, I'll usually stop them as they read and require them to use certain resource prompts. For example, I'll say something like, "Everyone put a finger on the word you're reading. Discussion Directors, please ask your group members question 7. Once you've discussed, please continue reading." These supports have really helped students become more accountable for their reading and learning.
