The Danielson rubric calls for a more student-centered classrooms in order to be deemed highly effective. In order to achieve this, group work is a must! When working with students in a group, it is important for all students to know that they have a role. One or two students should never do all of the work. In my classroom, I assign a facilitator, a reporter, a scribe, and multiple contributor roles. All students are then accountable for their work. Keep this Roles and Responsibilities sheet as a reminder of the roles of each member so they all know they are accountable for their work as a group. See my "Group Badges" for more!
