This is a legal sized (11 x 14 inch) single page graphic organizer. I use this during the unit on the Canadian Art History of the Group of Seven. I have included Tom Thomson at the top of the tree because he was instrumental with the formation of the group. I included Emily Carr as a cloud as she is often considered a member of the group (although she was not), but she does have a connection to the group. There are several websites that have bios of the various members of the group. I print those off, and have small groups of students review one member each, coming up with 6-8 important points about that one person. Then we share as a group and everyone writes down the information (I use a document camera and fill out one as the students share the information, so that everyone can see the points as they write).
