These colorful grouping cards are designed as a quick and easy way to flexibly group students into partners or triads. Pass out one card to each student and watch them find their match.
Partner Duo Cards: This set of 30 grouping cards makes creating heterogeneous partners quick and easy. There are 15 matched sets of partner duos. Simply remove cards to match your class size. Once given a partner duo card, students will walk-the-room to find their partner. Partner duo cards are two things that go together: cookies/milk, fish/fish bowl, rain/umbrella.
Triad Grouping Cards: This set of 30 grouping cards makes creating random groups of three quick and easy. There are 10 sets of triads. Simply remove cards to match your class size. You can vary group sizes of 2 or 3 by adjusting what cards are used. Once given a triad grouping card, students walk-the-room to find two other students who have the same item on their cards but in a different color. Heterogeneous groups of three are quickly created.
Clock Partners: Using clock partners is another way to partner up students with a specific purpose/goal in mind. As with scheduling any appointments, time is needed to set up students’ clock partners. Once the clocks are created, you will have a variety of partners for students to work with throughout the year. You can have students set their clock partners with a specific purpose in mind like similar readiness levels, interests, learning styles, or student choice. Need partners for an activity? All you have to say is, “Meet with your 10:00 appointment.” Students check to see who their clock partner is and off to work they go! A few different versions of clocks are included in this download.
