These sorts are meant to be a teaching tool for 2nd-5th grade classrooms when teaching leadership skills.
In 2nd or 3rd grade, I recommend using them in a whole group setting. You can read the cards aloud and have students sort them together. Some 3rd graders, and most 4th and 5th graders will be able to read these scenarios and sort them independently.
The blank cards are included so you can write your own sorts, or you can have your students create their own.
In addition, I always talk with the kids about how they know the leadership skill is being used (or is missing) in each scenario. This prompts them to use the language of leadership and deepens their understanding of the behaviors and thought processes associated with each skill.
