We used this as a fun end of term activity while also providing a great immersion task into measurement.
With this activity children build their own little diary/journal to document the growth of their grass hedgehog.
The pack comes with instructions for building the hedgehog, equipment needed and a master copy for the diary.
The diary pages can be cut in half horizontally and glued back to back. The two back to back pages can then be stapled, bound together to form a little book.
Although this task was used to introduce the concept of measurement, it would also be an ideal introduction into the plant life cycle and what plants need to grow healthy. As an added extra we watched a video on 'what plants need' to help fill in our diary and to educate ourselves on how to best help our hedgehog to grow.
