This friendly flower themed activity will help students develop a growth mindset (the belief that abilities and intelligence can be changed or developed) vs. a fixed mindset (the belief that our abilities and intelligence is fixed and can’t be changed) by teaching them to change the thoughts in their head that prevent them from reaching their potential.
**This packet is not designed to provide the extensive research and background behind the idea of growth vs. fixed mindset. I have included a list of several videos that you can use to talk more in depth about the research behind growth mindset and neuroplasticity. I have also included some children’s books that can be used to talk about growth mindset.
40 Mindset Thought Cards (20 growth mindset thoughts with 20 corresponding fixed mindset thoughts): can be used in a couple different ways (practice changing your thoughts, memory match up game, and more!)
