Growth Mindset - Getting Started: Vol. 1 UPPER GRADE SERIES

Growth Mindset is a term widely popularized by Stanford Mathematics Professor and Education Consultant Jo Boaler and Education Researcher Carol Dweck. The distinction between a “fixed mindset” and a “growth mindset” is dependent on a person’s thinking of their brain as either static (unchanging) or dynamic (changing). Research shows that our brains create new neural pathways with hard work. This information is something that can provide our students with motivation and willingness to work hard.

This is the first volume in a series on Growth Mindset, for upper grades (3rd-6th). Within Vol. 1, there are lessons to introduce and build a classroom culture focused on Growth Mindset. While the unit is intended to be delivered sequentially, of course you can pick and choose or modify. As the teacher, you know your classroom best!
