Just in time for the current research and popularity of the ideas around "mindset," and how critical it is for our students to understand the power that their view of their own learning has on their success. We were inspired to create this mindset journal after doing Jo Boaler's math MOOC with our students.
We hope that this journal will be a productive way for students to cultivate a positive schema about their ability to learn, while they work independently through the journal prompts and vignettes. It is meant to inspire students to read small passages in order to investigate the beginning of the mindset philosophy on their own. It is our hope that it opens doors allowing students to communicate these important ideas with people most important in their lives.
It is the perfect supplement to any morning routine or part of your day where students can relax and ponder new ideas that open their minds to their own potential. It is also a wonderful tool for giving home-school students access to these critical ideas about their learning.
