Product Description
Goal setting is so important in promoting a growth mindset. This growth mindset lesson uses a Daruma Doll, a traditional Japanese doll, to help students learn about goal setting in a bit of a different way.

This lesson uses the book Yuko-chan and the Daruma Doll; The Adventures of a Blind Japanese Girl Who Saves Her Village by Sunny Seki. This is a Japanese legend about the creation of a traditional doll that is still used today. You will need to own, purchase, or be able to borrow this book to teach this lesson.

This growth mindset lesson includes stopping points for a read-aloud for the book, a short follow up discussion guide about setting short-term goals, a worksheet, and step-by-step directions for making an origami Daruma doll.

I hope you enjoy this short lesson. Please check out this set of four other growth mindset lessons using Aesops Fables.
