These activities help bring Carol Dweck's Growth Mindset theory to life in a hands on way. Students track their progress in 3 different activities. Physically, mentally and a combined physical and mental activity. These activities integrate mental math, math fact fluency, STEM, cooperation and communication, and listening and speaking skills. These activities coupled with discussions about ability being something that can be developed will aid in students developing grit, perseverance and a sense of accomplishment.
My 2nd graders participated in these activities with their 5th grade "buddies" and they loved celebrating each other's growth, even when it was hard!
Download this packet to help your students learn about the power of "yet".
